MY PHYLOSOPHY
Respect, Example, Learn
I believe in respectful education, one that acknowledges each person’s individuality. For me, the best way to teach is to lead by example, through experiences, and to create new opportunities for children to explore and discover the world. Here at Beelong Family Daycare, our goal is for your little one to learn through play, in a lighthearted and fun way!
It is important to highlight that I worked for Waldorf School in Brazil for 8 years and that is why I follow this philosophy, which particularly inspires me.
But what does the Waldorf method mean?
The Waldorf method was developed by Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian philosopher who believed in the importance of combining the individual's reason and spirituality. Steiner was also one of the founders of Anthroposophy. The Waldorf method is based on a playful and inclusive teaching-learning process, where students have the opportunity to learn through individual and/or peer experiences.
The method has a clear focus on artistic manifestations. Therefore, education is interdisciplinary and stimulates the imagination, bringing positive results to the cognitive development of children.
The role of the school and the teacher is to provide the necessary instruments for the learner to discover their potential, autonomy and, in doing so, overcome the challenges that will be presented to them throughout their lives.
The Waldorf pedagogy advocates the formation of free, sensitive, creative and responsible people, based on collective consciousness, healthy eating and a harmonious
relationship with nature.
